Sermon Discussion Questions
Luke 11:14-28

1. Try as a group to call to mind the various aspects and lilustrations of the text

2. Carlos said that Jesus Ministry was a ministry of release. What kind of release is he talking about and how can the healing of the mute man illustrate this ministry? See Luke 4:18-19 for more info.

3. Jesus actions show that what we need to be released from is curse of our sins and the rulership of Satan that accompanies it
a. Carlos said there are two kingdoms and two kings. The evil king has come to bind us, separate us and kill us. – How have you experienced the presence of this evil king in your life, both past and present??
b. To take the other king’s possessions, you must first overcome the king. Carlos said that we are a possession and that we will only truly be free when we are captured by Christ. Isn't to be ruled to anyone to ultimately be trapped?

4. Carlos said that Jesus frees us from our second worse enemy which is ourself. We were not made to be the center of our lives. Thus, through Christ we are freed to follow a new King. How have you experienced the freedom of recognizing his rule?
a. We are also free to live for another kingdom, not to keep building our petty kingdom because we are inheriting one. How do we shift our mindset to start living for God’s kingdom instead of ours? What does that look like on a daily to daily basis?

5. Carlos said moment by moment obedience to God’s Word is the means by which we tangibly experience the blessings of a released life. Why is this true? Have you experienced this?
